Hair falling out big time...?

Im 34 %26amp; had a baby nearly 5 months ago. before i got pregnant, my hair used to fall out badly, during pregnancy it stopped completely.

Since giving birth, its back with a vengance, its that bad when i take a bath, i can't lift my arms out of the water without them being drapsed with hair. It blocks up plughole too.

Does anyone know what/why this is happening, %26amp; does this happen to you? i dont take any medication of any sort.

thanks in advance.

Mine is doing exactly the same fell out before none during pregency now falling out even more. I found a web site the says it is normal, explained why it does it, which is nothing to do with diet and will right itself when the baby is between 6 to 12 months old, hope it does or else ill be bold.

Maybe your diet isnt right, you could be malnurished or just not eating enough. Sometimes anemia can cause hair loss.

Hormones. Pregnancy woul have leveled them out for you, now it's over seems like they've unbalanced themselves again. Go see you Dr.

It must be hormonal if it stopped whilst you were pregnant. I'd go and see your GP if I were you. Get it checked out.

You might have a hormone imbalance. It is common for such problems to stop during pregnancy seen as your hormone levels are different. Make sure ure eating lots of protein as this will help new growth of hair and help repair damaged hair!If your still worried go to teh doctors as this will put ure mind at rest!

You were probably on prenatal vitamins while pregnant. You should probably have a blood panel done to check thyroid levels and iron levels either of which can make your hair fall out. Also, hyper vitamin-osis, the taking of too many supplements and vitamins can cause alopecia, or hair loss. Check with your Dr. Most people do not need a daily vitamin or any supplements if they eat properly. Some who do not retain potassium, iron and such do need it. Good luck.

there's a good chance that it is hormones but it might have something to do with diet

Hair falling out big time...?

It does fall out quite badly in some women after giving birth.

My daughter started losing hair quite badly when she was just 3 years old, I took her to a trichologist (hair specialist) who told me that she had weight alopecia (hair loss). If your hair is too long it can cause it to fall out because the weight of the long hair is too much. If your hair is long, try having it cut a bit shorter.

If this doesn't work either speak to your pharmacist or go and see your GP.

This often happens in reverse of what happened to you. I agree hormones are probably involved, but that doesn't necessarily mean it can't be helped.

Good nutrition, taking biotin (a B vitamin), getting your thyroid checked to make sure it's not contributing are thoughts. Best to see your MD.

PS%26gt;%26gt; Wow. Never heard of a trichologist. Sounds cool, though.

Hair falling out big time...?

it might be 2 things,

1. your hair is too healthy,,

2. you are under stress.
