I'm moving from a very dry, desert climate to the midwest. My hair gets big & curly in humi

I'm also concerned with how greasy it looks and feels when I have visited the midwest in the past. I just want to look clean and groomed, and not pouffy and out of control and dirty.

Sounds like you have natural curl... which never agrees with the humidity. I have naturally curly hair as well. My suggestion is to buy a shampoo and conditioner that are specifically for curly hair. I like Pantene Pro V Hydrating Curls and I have also tried the Sunsilk de-frizz shampoo and conditioner. Towel dry hair only, never blow dry or it can and will turn into a huge frizzy mess. After you towel dry your hair then use a wide tooth comb to prevent breakage with a brush. Next use a mousse for curly hair I like TRESemme Curl Care collection. I also use a small amount of gel in my hair to control it a bit more and help keep the frizz away through the day. Make sure to flip your head over and scrunch your hair from the ends to the roots. When you flip back over just style with fingers and let air dry. If you chose you could also add a small amount of spray gel into the mix just depends on the climate you live in. Also just a tip don't get carried away with the product or your hair will be weighed down. If your not into the entire routine of putting all this into your hair I would at least recommend trying the mousse. Just the mousse will keep your hair looking curly with out looking like you have a bunch of product in your hair. Also don't comb, brush, play with or restyle a whole lot once your hair is dry or the flowing curl will disappear in seconds and you will end up with frizz. Good luck and this exact way doesn't work for everyone since no one has the same type of hair. Try it a few times to see what is going to work the best for hair and the climate you live in. Who knows you may need to alter it a bit.

I used to live in the Midwest and the secret to fighting the greasiness is baby powder on your roots. It sucks up the extra oil.

I'm moving from a very dry, desert climate to the midwest. My hair gets big %26amp; curly in humidity. What to do?

don't worry about it... I live in the midwest now, and a lot of people have curly hair...you just have to put a curl scruncher in it or a gel or moose and that should work pretty good...that is what I do when my hair is curly. But most of the time I straighten my hair... and put a light finishing straight spray in it..... Plus, once you move here you will find out what hair style works best 4 you!!! :)

Hope I helped!

Well there isn't much you can do to change climate, especially with W in charge...he does love to pollute. I guess the only thing you can really do is get an air conditioner in order to keep your hair just right, then never go outside. Or get a wig.

I have very curly hair and live in Indiana. I use Pantene Frizz control right now but what works best for me is the Frizz Ease line by John Freida. I don't like the Garnier Fructis. It left my hair feeling stripped. I also use gel and very little hairspray. Oh, don't blow dry.

Dont go out and buy anything expensive.

First: Purchase a mild Shampoo (To Clarify hair, I will explain why)

Second: TRIM your hair ends (May 1 1/2 to 2 inches)

Third: Here's the magic part: Mix olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, avocado oil and a "little" honey, (honey u will have to heat so it can blend). Either leave on ALL day or all night (if all nite, DONT use honey)

Repeat this 3-4 times a week, your hair will grow like a weed %26amp; remove all frizz I promise,..... and it will be super shiny!!!!

The clairifying shampoo will help take the oil off your hair when u shower

You can find olive oil anywere, but the other oils you will have to buy at a local organics store, wholes foods or BJ's health corner.
