You don't say if your hair is naturally curly or permed. I am not sure if it makes a difference. I have naturally curly hair (insane amounts of coarse, naturally spiral curly hair) and do get compliments all the time.

First of all, never brush or comb your hair. If you do, even if it is wet after a shower, or EVEN BEFORE the shower, you will end up with frizz and Rosanne Rosannadanna Hair.

Secondly, you probably can't condition your hair too much, but adjust according to your hair. I condition my hair every day in the shower and wash it out, then often use conditioner in the place of gel after wrapping my hair in a towel to dry.

Thirdly, although you shower every day, using shampoo every day maybe too much. Every other day, with daily conditioning maybe sufficient.

Fourthly, finding the right product for your hair issues is key. It is super hard to find the right thing for curly hair. I have the extra burden of being chemically sensitive so I can't use anything with perfumes or parabens, etc. It sucks, but finally found some good conditioner: Unscented Hair Rinse by Real Purity at www.realpurity.com The shampoo I use is Fragrance-Free Shampoo by Pure Essentials. You also may like Whole Foods own brand 365 for shampoo and conditioner. A deep conditioner that I just found is Smooth As Silk by Giovanni at Whole Foods. (I think the deep conditioner may make my hair a bit frizzy if I don't follow with Real Purity's Hair Rinse.)

Lastly, I found that when I do some sort of coloring or lightening to my hair, it will tame the frizz a bit but leave the big spiral curls.

Curly hair is so hard. The magazines never give the right tips. It took me two decades to figure this stuff out. Crazy!

First, if you're not using a salon quality shampoo and conditioner, start. Generic store shampoos and conditioners are not required to have a balanced ph and can mess up anything you've done chemically to your hair and make it that much worse.

For curly hair I would recommend the Catwalk Curls Rock shampoo and conditioner. It's fairly inexpensive, very concentrated, so you don't have to use very much. And they also have a line of products that will help keep your hair under control.

The alternative option, which I don't recommend as highly, is getting your hair relaxed. But that is a harsh chemical process and after a couple months starts to look really funny when your natural curly hair that's been growing starts to show.

just look up 'texturizer' or 'twists' and you'll be able to see what it is. =]

My hair is wavy and frizzy. but i have started using sun silk anti poof. it works pretty well. better then any other shampoo i have tried. also try herbal essence none of your frizzness. use the shampoo, conditioner, and the leave in creme. this works great too. used this before i startes using sun silk. both work great.

You can use a shampoo and conditioner that tames curls like Organix Curling Citrus Mango Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner. You could also get a smoothing shampoo and conditioner like Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk, Soft %26amp; Silky Vanilla Silk, or Smoothing Shea Butter shampoo and conditioner (I love all of Organix's shampoos and conditioners, if you can't tell already).Organix aslo makes a curl reactivator that is good at keeping curls under control and not frizzy. For more frizz control, I reccomend TRESemme Anti-Frizz Secret Smoothing Creme (it works so well and it doesn't weigh down your hair).

Just a few tips: never brush your hair when it's wet (frizzy %26amp; poofy), try to limit how often you heat style your hair (if at all), and try to get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks to keep it healthy. Rinsing your hair in cold water right before getting out of the shower will help smooth the hair shaft and make it shiny. =)
